Tennis Ladder is free on the App Store and Google Play.
- iPhone / iPad: Download on the App Store
- Android: Get it on Google Play
The app gives you push notifications, offline-first speed, and the tennis-shot sound when you're challenged. Already installed? It updates itself.
Prefer not to install? You can add Tennis Ladder to your home screen and get the same experience — it's the same app underneath (challenges, results, brackets, notifications):
- iPhone (Safari): open the site → Share button → Add to Home Screen.
- Android (Chrome): open the site → you'll usually be prompted, or menu (⋮) → Add to Home screen.
The home-screen widget (iPhone)
Put your ladder on your home screen — position, win–loss record and your next match, on a glanceable card.
- Long-press an empty spot on your home screen until the apps wiggle.
- Tap Edit (top-left) then Add Widget — on older iPhones it's a +.
- Search Tennis Ladder, pick the small or medium size, tap Add Widget.
It updates itself through the day, and tapping it opens the app on Your Serve. If it ever says "Open Tennis Ladder to sign in", opening the app once sorts it. Signing out (or using Sign out everywhere) blanks the widget too — it never shows your details while you're signed out.
Your match on the Lock Screen (iPhone)
On match day, Tennis Ladder puts your match on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island about an hour before it starts: who you're playing, what time, which court, and a countdown. Tap it to open the app on Your Serve. It tidies itself away once your result is in, or a couple of hours after the start.
Following a live-scored match? Open its live scoreboard in the app and tap Follow on Lock Screen. The score (sets, games, the point and who's serving) updates on your Lock Screen as every point is played, and shows the final score when it's over. Tap On your Lock Screen · Stop to take it off.
Don't see it? Check Settings → Tennis Ladder → Live Activities is on, and that you're on the latest version of the app. It needs iOS 16.2 or later; on iOS 17.2 or later it appears even if you haven't opened the app that day. Junior matches never appear on a Lock Screen: their match news goes to their parent or guardian instead.
Pull to refresh
In the app, pull down from the top of any page to refresh it. You'll see a spinner, then the latest ladder, results and messages.
