Pickup Doubles is individual doubles with no fixed partners — open a game on a real date, or grab a seat at someone else's. Find it under Comps → Pickup Doubles (adults only for now).
Join a game
The Play tab shows every open game: date, time, level, and the four seats — filled seats show who's in, empty ones are yours to take. Tap Join this game and you're in; when the fourth player joins, everyone gets a push and we split the four into the fairest teams by rating.
If a game shows a level (say Challenger+) and you're below it, the button explains what it takes to unlock it instead of hiding — play more, or set your starting level.
Open your own game
Tap Create a game, pick a real date (next three weeks), a start time, and who can join:
- Open to all — anyone at the club
- Challenger+ — rating 1050 and up
- Contender+ — rating 1125 and up
The clubmates whose availability windows match get a ping, and the first three to join complete your four. Two games a day per person keeps the board honest.
Repeat weekly makes it a standing game — we re-open it automatically every week. Skipping a week is just not joining that week's game; only the organiser (or a club admin) can stop the repeat.

Fancy doubles today? Fire a Play tonight flare with a time — the club's doubles pool gets pinged and the first three in make it happen.
Challenge a pair ⚔️
Pick your partner, call out two opponents, choose a date and time. They accept and it counts like any other pickup game.
Availability = when we ping you
Your weekly windows (Ping me about games) are not a commitment and not specific dates — they just tell us when you're usually free, so we can notify you about new games in those windows (and occasionally line up a four for you in the background — decline any time, someone else gets the seat). Going away? Set yourself away on your profile and the pings pause.
Your rating and starting level
Results move your own doubles rating — never a ladder position. New to the club? One tap sets your starting level (Club player, Strong club player, League/county) so your first games are fair; after that your results do the talking. Until you've played, you'll show as Unrated.
Live scoring 📺
Organisers can score a confirmed four live, point by point. Open the fixture on Upcoming fixtures and tap Score this match live — you get the full-screen umpire pad and a public scoreboard link anyone can watch, no account needed. A live four wears a 📺 LIVE pill on the fixtures board, and finishing the pad files the doubles result automatically — ratings, upset bonuses and the Monthly Race all update, nothing to retype.
The Monthly Race 🏁
Every pickup win counts. Most wins in a calendar month is crowned Doubles Champion of the Month (badge + Hall of Fame), and each quarter the club's top eight get invited to Finals Night. Check The race tab for the live table — wins, streaks, win % and games won.
